Description
The Oklahoma County Assessor’s Office is actively seeking individuals to join our industry leading GIS team. This position requires the expertise necessary for production, maintenance, and development of county tax/parcel maps and parcel coverage through various GIS software systems and property records/deeds. This position includes interaction with the public regarding properties within Oklahoma County by telephone, email and in person, scanning maps/documents, production/transfer of digital data/reports including the collection of fees associated with each.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:• Ability to read/create/understand legal descriptions recorded on property deeds in relation to geographic locations such as township/range/section (PLSS), original plats, lot lines, and easements.• Assist with development and maintenance of GIS data resources to be utilized for public access of geographic data including experience with Geodatabases, Shapefiles, versioning with ArcPRO (Parcel Fabric).• Produce/scan accurate maps and other representations of data for public use and field work.• Perform parcel buffer & radius reports regarding city/county zoning changes for ownership certifications.• Assists the public in matters pertaining to ownership, parcel number, location, legal description and other inquiries on properties within Oklahoma County. • Assists the public on how to use networked computers/maps/websites. • Software Requirements: Esri ArcGIS 10x or later & ArcPRO. Accompanying software includes FME (Safe Software), Map Draw, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader.• Maintains regular attendance at work and is consistently on time. Designated work site is minimum of 40 hours per week Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:45PM• Other duties as assigned and needed. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
Experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:• Working/applied knowledge of cadastral standards in association with various GIS databases.• Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls, in-person inquiries and any other electronic communications utilizing good communication skills.• Must achieve Advanced Accreditation status of State Assessment Classes within first 18 months of employment and maintain 30 hours of continuing education credit every (3)three years.
Education Required
High School Diploma or GED. No certifications or registrations are required for this position. A minimum of one years’ experience working with ESRI ArcGIS 10x or later, and ArcPRO is preferred.
