OKLAHOMA COUNTY DISTRICT 2 PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all team members are expected to meet the following requirements:• Must have own tools.• Works independently performing quality work within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members.• Have simple computer skills, necessary to complete their duties and have excellent written and verbal communication abilities with attention to detail.• Be organized an able to work with deadlines and managing projects. • Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationships with Team Members, and Management.• Maintains strict confidentiality as directed; be honest, trustworthy, dependable, and flexible.POSITION PURPOSE: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment for highway crew machinery. Works under the general guidance and direction of the Shop Foreman, assures efficient operations of the District 2 Highway Yard and provides assistance in the areas that follow:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:• Must be able to be present at designated work site minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by supervisor.• Emergencies require 24 hour on-call.• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble; maintains records of inspection of trucks, equipment, etc. • Operates diagnostic equipment to ascertain necessary repairs. • Communicates with driver/operator to determine suspected malfunction in operation of vehicle/equipment.• Dismantles and replaces devices to gain access to, remove, and replace defective parts. • Examines form and texture of parts to remove defects or imperfections. • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. • Starts devices to test their performance. • Repairs or replaces defective parts; installs special functional and structural parts in devices; lubricates and cleans parts, cleans tools, and ensures that shop area is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe manner. • Makes repairs on electrical equipment. • Other duties as assigned. Experience

Must possess at least a minimum of 3 plus years of demonstrated experience, and/or vocational training; or an equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and vocational training. **Must possess a valid Class B Oklahoma State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements, and a safe driving record. WELDING experience is highly preferred.**Having your own tools is highly preferred.

Education Required

QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or G.E.D. Must possess at least a minimum of 3 plus years of demonstrated experience, and/or vocational training; or an equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and vocational training.
