OKLAHOMA COUNTY DISTRICT 2 PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all team members are expected to meet the following requirements:• Works independently performing quality work within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members. • Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationships with Team Members, and Management.• Be honest, trustworthy, dependable, and flexible.POSITION PURPOSE: Directs activities of personnel engaged in implementing environmental construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:• Must be able to be present at designated work site minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by Road Superintendent, County Commissioner or Designee• Current work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM• Emergencies require 24-hour on-call.• Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.• Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, cost control, and other workers) at start of project, and routinely reviews project assignments.• Orders procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform o work schedules for all projects.• Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.• Oversees supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.• Manages supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers o resolve construction problems and improve construction schedules.• Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules and all relevant bids or purchases.• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.• Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.• Supervisory duties include; interviewing, hiring, & training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees; addresses complaints and problem solving.• Assumes the role of Superintendent in their absence.• All, other assignments as needed and directed.

Supervises approximately 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 30 or more employees in the District Shop, including Mechanics, Drivers, Laborers, Tinhorn Crews, Equipment Operators and other employees as needed.

Education Required

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent or eight (8) more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. At least five (5) years of direct management experience Must possess at least a minimum of 3 plus years of demonstrated experience, and/or vocational training; or an equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and vocational training. Must possess a valid Class B Oklahoma State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements or able to obtain one within the first 180 days of employment with Oklahoma County.
