POSITION PURPOSE: The County Clerk’s office records and maintains a wide variety of real and personal property records. All employees are required to provide assistance to our customers. This includes over the phone, in person and electronically. Including, but not limited to recording documents, providing copies, assisting with research of documents, scanning and data entry of all documents. All employees are cross -trained within department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to the following:• Maintains regular attendance at work and is consistently on time.• Must be able to be present at designated work site minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by supervisor.• Provides assistance to citizens and customers requesting research and/or copies of recorded documents. • Assists customers with navigating our pubic website to research documents.• Reviews and verifies all documents submitted for recording to insure they meet all Oklahoma filing requirements.• Records all documents, assigning correct document type and collecting appropriate fees.• Handles and balances currency in various forms.• Scans and verifies images on all recorded documents.• Data entry of all information required from recorded documents.• Answering phones.• Other duties as assigned and needed. **Please note if you have applied for this position in the last 90 days you do not have to reapply. Possess one year of experience in a general clerical or administrative service and support capacity; or equivalent combination of education and training. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:• Able to promptly answer high volume phone calls and citizen requests for assistance.• Good communication skills.• Detail oriented.• Works well with others• Able to handle stressful situations with courtesy and tact with citizens that could be emotional, excitable and/or upset.• Positive Attitude• Willingness to learn and develop• Motivated and self-directed • Willingness to follow the chain of command with management.
