Description

Main Purpose of Job:
Maintain and Repair vehicles and equipment to assist District Three employees and county personnel perform their jobs safely and efficiently for the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Must be able to be present at designated work sight site a minimum of 40 hours per week, as established by supervisor. Emergencies require 24 hour on-call and duties are required in emergency situations. Must be able to be reached after hours when needed.
2. Promote public safety relating to vehicle maintenance and repairs including:
A. District 3 will provide tools for employees to use but employee will be responsible for the care and proper use of tools and equipment.
B. Repair mechanical equipment for District three (trucks, tractors, graders, mowers, loaders, cars, compressors, water pumps, and generators).
C. Provide field service/mobile repair for vehicles and equipment.
D. Assist drivers and operators to communicate mechanical problems timely and accurately.
E. Provide preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
F. Operates diagnostic equipment to ascertain necessary repairs.
G. Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, welder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
H. Ensure employees safety through proper working methods.
I. Attend safety training for review and updates.
J. Must be willing to obtain and/or maintain a class B A CDL license. Training to obtain the class A would be provided.

3. Communicate daily with Foreman to obtain job/project and special instructions.
A. Report problems to foreman (for example, equipment problems, directions or problems with the job requirements or specifications).
B. Provide input concerning equipment condition.
4. Request parts, tools, and supplies to operate shop and equipment.
5. Repair and service vehicles for other departments.
6. Represent Oklahoma County and serve the public in a professional manner

Experience

Job related work experience: minimum of 1 year
Other requirements: License: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must possess a clean driving record. Must obtain a Class B CDL within their first 90 Days of employment and prefer employee to obtain a Class A within their first year of employment.

Education Required

High school diploma or GED: or 1yr job related work experience.
