Seatbelts save lives, and the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office can prove it to you with a Rollover Simulator demonstration.
The Rollover Simulator is half of a Chevy S-10 pickup designed to simulate a 25-30 mph rollover accident.
A deputy explains the dynamics of a rollover accident by utilizing the spinning simulator which is equipped with crash dummies.
The demonstration shows how a roll-over crash will affect the human body when seatbelts are in use, and when seatbelts are not in use.
This program can be customized to fit any age group and can last up to 30 minutes.
In 1997 the State of Oklahoma passed a primary seat belt law saving a total
of 176 lives in the past seven years. Listed below are highway safety
facts compiled by Kathy Evans of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.
